Review of Halloween: Resurrection (2002) by Ineedausernamen — 05 Jul 2017
I don't know what's more disrespectful. Rob Zombie turning Michael Myers into some bushy beaver redneck, Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers turning him into a cultist rapist being puppeteered by some unexplainable mystery character, or this one- Busta Ryhmes kicking Michael's white ass out of his own house! Halloween: Resurrection is hilarious! And in a straightforward horror movie, that is never a good thing.
This is some Blair Witch Project in a psycho killer's house crap that's entertaining as ass (the good kind), but sucks equally. It was completely unnecessary. They took Halloween H20, an okay for the most part movie that could have ended it, and then they make this, kill off Laurie, disrespect Michael in the most unintentionally hilarious way possible, and all the while they don't scare you even once.
I don;t know what to say. It accomplishes the entertainment part, there's no question about that, but I can't get past the fact that it totally sucks in virtually every aspect. I recommend it for the sake of a fun and often funny movie, but not if you're looking for a good story, good characters, good concept, or good scares.
That's the whole point, but that's not what you're going to get.
