Review of Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982) by Perkjl — 04 Jan 2016
As a sequel to Halloween II this film fails. As a standalone it works well. Still miles better than H4-6, Resurrection, and possibly even Rob Zombie's dreadful reboots. Season of the Witch at least has some originality, which the other entries in the series lacked.
It's a underrated film in general with a grown cult following. Like most 80's horror films, definitely a guilty pleasure, but really it's really not as bad as you'd think. Just don't treat it as a proper "Halloween" movie as that it is not.
However, the influences of John Carpenter & Debra Hill had on HIII give the film that classic Halloween 1 and 2 vibe that other entries in the series lacked. Season of the Witch is a underrated film.
It actually gets worse from here.
