Review of Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982) by Austin N — 30 Mar 2018
Despite no Michael Myers, Halllween III: Season of the Witch (1982) is quite a thrilling treat for the third entry of the Halloween franchise as well as the Halloween tradition. It's a film at first where you're confused due to the plot not having the elements from the previous 2 films and the film having a story of its own but as you watch it over and over again you grow to appreciate the film for what it is, a cult classic 80s horror film.
And if people really understood what John Carpenter and Debra Hill's original idea for this franchise was they would've liked the idea and appreciated it even more and they couldn't help but think: what would we have gotten if John and Debra continued the franchise down the path they originally intended and you can only wish that they would've continued the franchise with the idea and create new endless ideas.
The possibilities are endless. Plus, the film really has that tone where you know it's Halloween and the atmosphere is Halloween and every moment you know it's Halloween. And the jingle that constantly plays throughout the movie reminds you that it hasn't forgotten what the film is trying to accomplish.
Michael Myers or not, it's still an enjoyable and a brilliant horror film if you give it a few more watches like I did. 5/5 Stars!!!!
