Review of Halloween II (1981) by Jim A — 05 Nov 2013
In my opinion, an immediate sequel to John Carpenter's Halloween partially ruins the mythology of the escaped lunatic Michael Myers. While not a terrible film, the atmostphere that made the first 'Halloween' so great is replaced with increased nudity, language, and violence, transforming a true horror classic into a stereotypical date movie.
John Carpenter's pressure by the Akkad's to create a predictable sequel is obvious here.
