Review of Halloween Ends (2022) by Jrichard1994 — 16 Oct 2022
The "finale" to the Halloween series is lukewarm to slasher fans, at best. Halloween Ends introduces a main character to be Michael Myers’ apprentice, but becomes an origin character story to be the premise for most of the film.
Bold move, but it’s a finale film for a reason. The fans want proper closure to Laurie Strode and her tormenter, Michael Myers. This idea could of been attempted in the many Halloween sequels leading up this, but the Director and the writers (four in total) chose the wrong time to attempt this strategy.
We do not see the Boogeyman (Myers) until like halfway through the movie and barely see him for more than 20 minutes. Laurie Strode is involved a little more often but is more of the secondary cast for this movie.
The movie introduces 2 new and uncompelling characters and feels like a set up for a sequel. Too bad (and thankfully) there will not be one.
