Review of Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989) by The Movie W — 07 Oct 2012
An entertaining follow up to part 4 but it goes off course at the end. Clearly trying to set up a part 6, our French director (wtf?) takes us down the road of mysticism and cultism. Luckily Pleasence dominates with his most fierce performance to date in the series thanks to some great screen writing.
Again Danielle Harris shows she can hold her own. It honestly surprises me she hasn't broken out of the genre. In any event, this feels like the last entry in the series to me since Pleasence died (in real life) halfway through the next entry.
What a damn shame.
