Review of Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989) by Ryan K — 08 Nov 2009
I wasn't looking forward to watching this movie, and I'm glad I wasn't. At least I know I'm sane. Jamie Lloyd, Mike Myers' niece, is the next victim of stalking. This was released at a time when brainless slashers really sucked, and this film was a brainless slasher.
I am disappointed in this series. After all, it really could've stopped after II and kept its dignity. Instead, it has become a long series of increasingly dull sequels. I watched the edited version on TV, and it was probably better than the actual version because it didn't focus on gore.
Even then, that's like saying having an arm ripped off isn't quite as bad as having both arms ripped off. If you've watched this series all the way up to five and like it, something's wrong with your brain.
