Review of Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) by Renzo V — 27 Aug 2014
"THE RETURN OF MICHAEL MYERS".
- 'Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers' is a 1988 slasher film by Dwight H. Little (Free Willy 2, Anacondas: the Hunt for the Blood Orchid). In comparison to 'Halloween 3', this movie focuses on the return of serial killer Michael Myers. The story takes place ten years after the events of 'Halloween 2', as Myers is determined to kill his niece Jamie Lloyd. I'm a big fan of the franchise and I would definitely recommend horror fanatics on seeing it. The main character's name Jamie was chosen as a homage to Halloween Scream Queen Jamie Lee Curtis. Starring Ellie Cornell (House of the Dead), Donald Pleasence (The Great Escape, Escape From New York) and introducing a very young Danielle Harris (Hatchet 2, Urban Legend) as Jamie Lloyd. "He's Back!".
Ten years after the explosion in the Haddonfield Hospital, serial killer Michael Myers is a comatose patient in a heavy secured facility. On a rainy night, he is transferred to another Sanitarium in an ambulance. Upon hearing that he has a niece, Michael wakes up, kills the paramedics and makes his way home. When doctor Samuel Loomis (Pleasence) learns that Michael has escaped, he knows where his former patient is headed and begins the pursuit to stop him.
Michael's niece Jamie Lloyd (Harris) has recently lost her parents and is now living with her foster family, the Carruthers. On the night of Halloween, her foster parents are out and Jamie is in the care of her foster sister Rachel (Cornell), who had to cancel her date. During trick-or-treat, the girls have no idea what evil awaits them.
