Review of Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) by Lovro H — 08 Jul 2015
Michael Myers is back! The first thing that caught my eye in the movie once Michael showed up is his mask. His mask looks so cheap and bland in this sequel. But, he's still the same old maniacal killer! Again, there are some really silly and stupid deaths, but it still manages to scare you, even if just a little bit, in its chase scenes.
The story is mediocre. Michael's supposed to be in a coma for 10 years and immediately wakes up after he hears that his niece is alive. It's a bit hard to believe that since he got shot 6 times and was set on fire in the 1st and 2nd movie.
But, anyways, he's back in town to find his niece and end her. It's nothing new, though the ending leaves room for more sequels and is genuinely creepy. The theme song is also back! Hooray! The acting is good, though David Pleasence and Danielle Harris stand out.
All in all, a not bad sequel with an interesting twist and just enough action (though not enough story) to entertain you for its 88 minute runtime. Would recommend to Halloween fans!
