Review of Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) by Jody B — 24 Sep 2009
I break the Halloween franchise into 5 segments:
1 The Jamie Lee Curtis Laurie Strode trilogy (1,2, and H20).
2 The Jamie Llyod/Thorn Trilogy (4,5, and 6).
3 Rob Zombie's Vision (The two remakes).
4 Halloween 3 (non-Michael Myers sequel).
5 Halloween Resurrection (no connection to others except the JLC opening sequence).
This is the best of the thorn trilogy, and a worthy effort on its own. However, since the follow-through in the next two sequels destroyed any promise of a solid new direction to take the franchise, it's almost pointless to watch this.
Side note: the mask is HORRIBLE and looks nothing like the mask on the cover art.
