Review of Halloween (2018) by Nognow — 22 Oct 2018
Hands down better than most if not all sequels and an overall decent but disappointing movie.
Unlike most of the sequels, it is very faithful to the tone and dark atmosphere of the original; this Michael Myers is once again an unstoppable force of evil rather than a regular human psychopath or part of some cult. Jamie Lee Curtis is once again the shining star whose performance single-handedly brings the movie together.
A bit too much fan service, not enough new Ideas, an overabundance of loud jumpscares, a poor second half, and misplaced humor prevent the movie from being capital G "Great".
