Review of Halloween (2018) by Robert M — 18 Oct 2018
Went last night (my birthday) and it was an AWESOME birthday present! Green and McBride have an obvious love for this movie and it shows. This is the proper follow up to this classic, godfather of slasher films.
No sister, no niece, no cult of thorn, dorn, florn, no Tyra, no Busta... just Michael friggin' Myers and Laurie Strode. Jamie Lee Curtis is written as a real character and is funny, charming, and INTENSE -- all the reasons of why we fell in love with her 40 years ago.
The movie is suspenseful, creepy, and pays homage to not just the original, but tosses in numerous references to the silly and ridiculous movies that carried the "Halloween" name. I'll definitely be seeing this movie a couple more times in theaters!
