Review of Halloween (2018) by Hector V — 18 Oct 2018
The editing isn't as tight as it could be, and the film also fools around a little much, planting seeds for certain characters (two British podcasters and Michael's new psychiatrist, specifically) and plot points that budge the narrative's pacing off just enough to feel awkward.
But with excellent performances by three vulnerable, though no less empowering women in Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, and Andi Matichak, as well as Joseph Gordon Green's fantastic direction, 2018's "Halloween" is one of the best horror/slasher films in a long time.
The film ties John Carpenter's '78 film up perfectly with a bow that should never be touched again.
