Review of Halla Bol (2008) by Akash S — 29 Jan 2008
A good effort from all, but a true let down from Raj Kumar Santoshi. I guess we expect so much from him after great films liek khakee, bhagat singh, and lajja... a social issue and a bold topic is his norm, but it could have been much better.
. it completley reminded me of the typical masala films of the 90s.. the hints of comedy kept the film alive for me.. but even then everything was overdone, especially the acting.. Pankaj Kapoor was a true let down.
.. all that over acting. ajay devgan needs to remind his audiences of his versatility.. he is too typical.. vidya balan was eye candy and didnt really do much.. it brought up some interesting points, but the slate was way too spread out.
. was it about the reality behind the glitz and glamour of bollywood, or was it about a serious issue of standing up for the poor?? concentrate on the topic at hand.
