Review of Hall Pass (2011) by Jillian L — 16 Feb 2012
So, I heard this was supposed to be hilarious... It was mildly funny and had a nice ending. Owen Wilson and Jenna Fischer are an adorable couple. Wilson is that cute dorky middle age guy, and I love Jenna Fischer.
They have really nice chemistry and their whole story arc makes sense. I feel like Jason Sudeikis and Christina Applegate are there just so the other couple wasn't alone. I couldn't stand Fred and I found myself wondering why Christina Applegate's character could have possibly married him.
Even at the end of their story, it was just really unsatisfying. I feel like that couple got divorced a few years later. The comedy was pretty funny, but a couple of random things throughout the movie got on my nerves.
1. The obviously photoshopped pictures throughout. It's just way too obvious it is two separate pictures or their heads on another body. 2. The unnecessary nudity. Honestly, it wasn't necessary to the story at all and I feel like they did is just because they could.
Like I said, some parts were pretty funny, I liked the Wilson and Fischer couple ending, and the psychology part of it was cool. But honestly, I've seen better.
