Review of Hall Pass (2011) by Tiffany D — 16 May 2012
In a way, Hall Pass is a chick flick buried under layers of raunchy adult comedy... but then, the Farelly Bros. often hide sentimentality in their films. This is one of their best (a group in which I'd also include The Ringer and Something about Mary). It was naughty fun, if a bit predictable. I think it would have benefited from more scenes that included the larger group of male friends - but maybe that's just because I adore Merchant, Smoove & Jenkins. A good time - but not for the conservative viewer -- 3 1/2 to 4 stars.
Rewatched:
laughed again - definitely 4 stars -- and killer soundtrack (can't believe I didn't mention it the first time 'round).
