Review of Half Shot at Sunrise (1930) by Greg W — 13 Sep 2014
A classic comedy with a duo definitely in the ranks of Laurel and Hardy and Abbot and Costello, this is one underrated gem you can't miss. As you could probably tell from the first sentence, Half Shot at Sunrise is a hilarious little film filled with charm and jokes.
The gags range from double entendres to physical humor, and each shows Wheeler and Woolsey at the top of their game, along with their great co-stars who are just as good at delivering comedic talent. The only issue with the movie is there aren't as many musical numbers as other movies like Hips, Hips, Hooray, but that is made up by the quality of the present songs and an amazing, laugh inducing ballet sequence.
This is a classic that you have to check out.
