Review of Half Nelson (2006) by Hardy H — 25 Oct 2014
Maybe an interesting story - the inner city white teacher in a largely black school, teaching dialectics to 13-year-olds. Oh yeah and he's a crackhead, and one of his pupils not only knows that, but is also acting as a courier for a local dealer.
Interesting perhaps as a character study, and a study of the neighbourhood culture. But actually a bit dull. Some nice jump cuts between the teacher's situation and the pupil's, but otherwise pretty average.
