Review of Half Nelson (2006) by Charlene & — 10 Aug 2009
Half Nelson is another drug film, done right. A junior high teacher, struggling with sticking to the curriculum, is also struggling with a relationship, and hard drugs. It's a simple, tough film that seems to portray that "love covers a multitude of sins.
" It's nothing in-you-face enthralling, and the story is so simple, you may just miss it. But what's there is brilliant and beautiful, compelling and charming, saddening and uplifting. Half Nelson is a nice film well worth the watch.
