Review of Hairspray (2007) by Sarah S — 14 Dec 2012
I actually thought this wouldn't do too well for multiple reasons, but it was actually pretty good! The plot of the movie was about a girl who wants to dance and sing on stage, and more importantly on the Corny Collins Show.
Along the way, she also learns that she needs to stand up for what she believes is right and also finds love along the way. The songs are so good! They are very catchy. Nikki Blonsky did a very good job with her singing and acting.
Amanda Bynes was very good as well. They did just so well with the songs and what they did while they sang it. Some of the songs were very funny, including Without Love and I Can Hear The Bells. John Travolta did an excellent job (even though he was a woman) but was very funny indeed.
The acting was very good as well. They did a very good job with the dancing, the jealousy, the trust, and all the other emotions and feelings that they showed with their songs and such. As I said before, John Travolta was simply hilarious! I'm surprised of course that a musical for a movie did so well.
I also want to go and see the older version to see how different it is. A great movie to see and recommended for everyone.
