Very cool movie. It is a clear inspiration for "Across the Universe", and it manages to show the hippie like society that the Vietnam War created. Songs are great, performances are great, the whole of the movie is very enjoyable.
Even if you don't share these people's view on life, the take it has on war helps you understand their seemingly crazy "peace on Earth" kinda attitudes; a war as stupid and illogical as the one in Vietnam would obviously bring a bizarre reaction.
And the ending is just wow.
