Review of Hair (2012) by Kevin D — 11 Mar 2012
The loudest criticism tends to be that this paean to flower power and love love love hasn't aged well, and it's hard to argue against that. The songs, even those that are particularly catchy, were substantial to the extent that they were controversial; in our anything-goes era, they're less controversial, and the insubstantiality clearer; now we all can tell that the song about sodomy from "Meet the Feebles" is the more groundbreaking of the two songs about sodomy that spring to mind.
My boy Forman is, of course, a freakin' pro, so it is dynamically staged and put together, but it's a feel good movie with a (very) contrived downer ending.
