Review of Hair (1979) by Jenna I — 01 Aug 2015

I'm so torn because on one hand this movie is shot fantastically- a really great film adaptation of a more abstract play that could have been a mess. On the other hand, I just don't really like the play.

The music is mostly forgettable and doesn't hold up, plus the message and plot are sophomoric (but then again, so was a lot of the hippie movement). But this movie is well cast, well sung and visually fun.

.. I feel like I can't punish it because I'm not the biggest fan of the source material.
