Review of Hail, Caesar! (2016) by Gamed2Long — 03 May 2016
You watch this movie, and you leave feeling like it was written for someone else. But I couldn't tell you who. Its not as deep as most Coen brothers films. But there isn't much to the plot either. Its a nod to a period of Hollywood history with several Coen brother idiosynchronicities woven in.
There are a bunch of Hollywood's most talented actors playing bit parts. I had a good time, but there were parts of it I found strange and didn't get. Its something I would watch parts of again, if I was flipping channels on TV.
I have no desire to watch it again in its entirety, and I'm a fan of the Coen brothers.
