Review of Hail, Caesar! (2016) by Srivats S — 06 May 2016
Hail, Caesar! is literally like any other Coen Brother comedy, you have no idea what is going on with the thousands of subplots and characters. It is literally a movie made for critics.
Why anything happens in this movie in the first place makes no sense. There are some film studios struggling with their actors and then the Communists in the film studio turned out to be actual Russians (big surprise, especially because Channing Tatum is the Russian, am I right?).
Gosh, the above sentence did not make any sense... Kind of like the movie. They tried to create a typical movie set in the 50s. Some parts of it were at least aesthetically very satisfying in terms of set and mannerisms of people of the time.
