Review of Hail, Caesar! (2016) by Sonny S — 10 Apr 2016
Any pastiche in this cumbersome clunker is hung out to dry in the breeze of post-modern mockery. Ludicrous performances from George Cloony and Tilda Swinton in one film and an altogether different performance by Josh Brolin in another, makes for an awkward and tiresome watch.
Yes, it has a nice song and dance scene, a singing cowboy and a nod to Buzby Berkley...but why?
