Review of Hail, Caesar! (2016) by Elijah M — 19 Apr 2016
This is just an odd, odd film that feels more like a series of sketches than an actual story. There are some genuinely funny moments but you do get the feeling that the film is not really going anywhere which gets a little tiresome around the 80 minute mark.
The is held together by some very good performances, most of them over the top and manic especially from George Clooney, Josh Brolin and relative newcomer Alden Ehrenreich. Amongst the plethera of comeos Ralph Fiennes steels the scene with just one line.
