Review of Hail, Caesar! (2016) by Jax G — 13 Sep 2016
This movie reminds me of Fargo in the sense that The Coens create another conflict that goes beyond the mains character's worlds. The characters are extremely witty, exaggerated but somehow realistic.
I really appreciate the homages The Coens do with the characters they create, their dialogue and the plot. Even in the details of the scene they pay little tributes 50s cinema iconography (ex: the scene with Frances McDormand as the projectionist).
All in all, the fact that enjoy The Coens style and appreciation for cinematic history, I was easily able to enjoy this movie thoroughly, even though the main conflict doesn't have that same weight as it could've had.
