Review of Hacksaw Ridge (2016) by Blake J — 17 Jan 2018
In the war based action movie with gunfire they key is to save people. Hacksaw Ridge, starring Andrew Garfield (Desmond), Teresa Palmer (Dorothy), and Vince Vaughn (Sergeant Howell), brings a pack of punch to the world of camp and war.
Andrew Garfield (Desmond) is a country boy who is on a mission to save people in the war, but he encounters problems along the way that could possibly stop that from happening. Without giving up he goes to the head general to state that he only wants to save people and not fight.
The movie is directed by Mel Gibson, who has also directed The Expendables 3 and The Lethal Weapon series, so if you like movies with gunfire this is a really good movie. Overall the movie looks great; Desmond's action based skills are over the top compared to everyone else.
He is one of the bravest medics ever in a war. However as the movie goes on Desmond never changes his attitude as he fights the war. Andrew Garfield's performance was outstanding and making you want to finish the movie to see how it plays out, much like Bradley Cooper (Chris Kyle) in American Sniper with the dedication to save and protect his country.
Overall I give this movie five out of five stars. So if you can take a little blood and explosions sit down with some snacks and enjoy the movie.
