Review of Hacksaw Ridge (2016) by Leo K — 22 Mar 2017
On the one hand, this is an amazingly choreographed movie, with some of the best action sequences ever, and an amazing story... which is cemented by the interviews at the end.
On the other hand, it's action sequences seem like hollywood war-porn (ie. run and gun, spray and pray shooting with some invincibility moments).
Also, the director obviously tried to make a point with the 'needlessly violent' theme of war, but it doesn't focus well on that theme for too long. As well, some of the cuts between time are a bit confusing.
But overall, a great movie, nonetheless.
