Review of Hacksaw Ridge (2016) by Fadeblack — 05 Feb 2017
Rarely has a tale of courage ever been so finely told. Is Mel Gibson the greatest director of all time? If he's not, there ain't too many better. The epic, raw power emanating from this tale, especially in the second half of the film, needs to be experienced on the big screen for sure.
The first half of the film was a little bit slower than I imagined, but that hardly takes away from the spectacle. Second best movie of the year, behind Silence. 8.
