Review of Hackers (1995) by Dann M — 25 Aug 2012
Hackers is an atrocious high-tech thriller that's just one bad stereotype after another. The story follows a group of high school computer hackers that are being setup to take the fall for a terrorist attack.
Jonny Lee Miller, Angelina Jolie, Matthew Lillard, and Fisher Stevens form the cast and give horribly cliched performances. The characters aren't likable or relatable; they're just generic stereotypes that ride around on skateboards, wear sunglasses indoors, and throw around inane techno-jargon.
And the tech in this high-tech thriller is laughable bad, with the most ridiculous visual representations of hacking. While trying to glorify the world of computer hacking, Hackers actual makes a mockery of it.
