Review of Hachi: A Dog's Tale (2009) by Juste F — 08 Oct 2014
Heartwarming, precious and designed to tug at every emotional string you have. Hachi is a perfect Hollywood-0designed remake of a 1987 Japanese film, which was based on a true story in 1920's Japan of a professor whose loyal canine friend waits daily in the same spot at the train station for his master's return from work.
However, one day the professor dies while at school and never returns. Hachi returns to the same spot every day for 9 years until he himself passes. If you are even half of an "animal person," much less a "dog person," Hachi will have you teary-eyed with sweetness and sadness.
It isn't a perfect movie and is borderline too sappy, but if one views this movie with the right expectations, they don't get much better than this for animal lovers and pet/dog owners.
