And If you see this film...ever, you'll understand why I would prefer a Dog over any Human Being.

Obviously this is not a "acting skills" film , hence Richard Gere is in it, because the star of the film is the Loyalty message. How Hachiko waited for his dead master all of his life. That itself it's the film. And you don't need to know anything else cuz everything else is irrelevant.
