Review of Gunless (2010) by Iain G — 28 Aug 2010
I didn't really have high hopes for this movie when I saw the title, and read the back. It seemed to me, the sort of movie that you'd find in the "Direct to Video" market.
But I do have to say that I did enjoy it, even if it is more of a Canadian Broadcast Corporation type of movie. The humour isn't in your face, and comes from the differences in who the American West was, and how Canadians are seen.
The story is pretty simple, but allows for a decent flow of humour, with a dash of quiet seriousness. The characters were enjoyable and likable.
The film style was straight forward, but effective.
While it's not a movie you'd want to watch over and over, and probably not one that I'd watch on the big screen, it is good for a night of innocent laughs and popcorn.
