Review of Gunga Din (1939) by Jack W — 26 Jul 2009
Rollicking adventure film that is beautifully shot. the film is overtly racist, yet that fact needs to taken in the context of when the film was made and when and where the narrative is occurring. Still, the film is influential (all I could see was Temple of Doom throughout) and Cary Grant does get to play a role quite different from his usual ones.
