Review of Gummo (1997) by Mark E — 14 Apr 2008

I haven't read anything about the making of this movie, but I have to wonder how many of the characters were actually professional actors...some of the footage in this seemed real, which made it all the more poignant to me.

The story doesn't develop, but it doesn't need to...we're afforded a glimpse into the lives of these people, however disturbing it may be. Not something I would watch frequently, but I did enjoy it, and will watch it again.

..when I feel the urge to get depressed and be awed at the same time.
