Review of Gummo (1997) by Chase J — 28 Jul 2008
This film plays with conventions, abandons them and then reconstructs them. Half documentary/exploitation, half crude commentary on the sad state of our nation. It is truly a work of maddening art. Will repulse and delight those willing to sit through its aimless plot and able to stomach its bizarre characters.
Why isn't there a Criterion of this?
