What to say about Gummo...

I didn't like it.

But that's far too simplistic a comment for this film.

It has no storyline, no real character development, no real point.

The material is unpleasent, but not in the "I'm making a point here" way.

It's not so much a film as a haphazard collection of vignettes with no real progression or even flow.

There are very few people I would recomend this to.

And yet I can garentee that I will watch it again.

The reason being that, from the many scenes, there are a few that were so amazing gorgeous. A sort of surreal, filthy beauty.

Also, the multitude of minute details that I noticed throughout surely means there are 3 times as many that I missed.

The poeple who end up watching this are probably the people who will appreciate it.

Certainly not for everyone.
