Review of Gulliver's Travels (2010) by Wayne - — 06 Sep 2011
I like Jack Black, and he's a big kid really, so what better to do than have him be gigantic in a movie for kids? I don't know if this was marketed to kids, but it would be best suited that way.
I did enjoy it, but it is by no means a classic, or even very good movie. It's entertainment, plain and simple. Oh and for those people who trash it because there's a scene where Black puts out a fire by peeing on it? That's actually IN Jonathan Swift's book.
Very good supporting cast, including Jason Segel, Emily Blunt, Billy Connolly, Amanda Peet, and the very quickly becoming big Chris O'Dowd. Yes it's silly, yes it's ridiculous, but what can you expect from a movie with Jack Black as a giant?
