This was a very daring movie for its time. A black man wanting to marry a white girl! Both coming from families not too keen on the idea (but they come around). I love the scene where Sidney Portier (who plays a detective) slaps a prominate, wealthy white guy (who slapped Sidney first!) Powerful scene.
