Review of Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967) by George S — 03 Aug 2008
Phenomenal movie for it's time. Sidney Poitier (my fav actor of all time) delivers a stand-up performance as the gentle soft spoken doctor that is about to marry outside of his race. Beah Richards is a native of Vicksburg, MS (my hometown).
This movie had guts to deliver at a time when people weren't comfortable with dealing with race and interracial marrying. Although each actor carried his/her own weight, the movie becomes Oscar material when Spencer Tracy delivers his end movie monologue to the rest of the cast.
A must see for every American citizen. This movie is the original Guess Who starring Bernie Mac and Ashton Kutcher.
