Review of Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967) by Derek W — 07 Oct 2008
Despite some great performances from this legendary trio the film itself is just too ambitious for it's own good with it's lighthearted approach to what was and still is a rather taboo subject.
The script seems to be built on unrealistic notions and fails to really shed any substantial light on the topic at hand and ultimately ends up just flirting with the idea...A misguided but admirable attempt?.
..sure. A relevant statement about interracial relationships? ...certainly not.
