Review of Guess Who (2005) by Eric L — 05 Sep 2008
When they try to mremake a classic movie why do they nearly always make a bollocks of it. This is so devoid any character, brains and charm that I was embarrased for the stars. The story of a white boy trying to ingratiate with a black reactionary father in law who learns the value of true love is told in such a candy coated way that it makes you hope they fail.
It dosent ring true either. Race relations are so much more advanced and inconsequential in the noughties than they were in the fifties that a mixed marriage is now a non issue. Watch the original for a truly thought provoking movie.
