Review of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) by Kenmei — 23 Aug 2017

Feels very much more run-of-the-mill then the first one. It's definitely lacking the charm that the first one seemed to have in spades but everything else here is pretty well done if a bit lacking. I didn't feel like this one had the special quality that made the first one much more then a superhero movie and more of a good time.

These days I can barely sit through a superhero movie without hating it if it's just run of the mill like this one turned out to be. That's not to say it's bad but I expected a bit more from the GotG crew here.

It just felt like they were going through the motions here to get this up and done as quick as possible before the massive Avengers movie comes out. I expected a bit more from GotG because it felt different from the rest of the Marvel universe.

Instead this turned out to be a fairly bland time. I'd prob still recommend watching it but those who love the first one will be very disappointed like I was.
