Review of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) by Jak-Luke S — 23 Jul 2017
After a promising and entertaining introduction, Guardians Vol. 2 falls into the disappointing category of a self indulgent mess. Firstly the structure is off, the edit doesn't know where to focus throughout with a constant back and forth momentum that leads down multiple side plots with little pay off.
The main focus on Star-Lord and Ego is focused on for what should've been 15 minutes is stretched out into almost an hour of annoyance and flat development. The supporting cast is rather useless due to the issue above many, if not all characters are left on the sidelines such as Stallone who feels completely out of place.
The sheer amount of post-credits scenes are also ridiculous with each adding absolutely nothing to what we already know.
