Review of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) by Ivan I — 01 Jun 2017
Vol.1 was such a great movie, it left? the bar way to high; and vol.2 tries to get there, it can't, but that doesn't mean this movie is bad, 'cause it's not, not at all; while the first half of the movie was a little heavy, towards the middle it runs smoothly, the character relationship seems natural, and the final act, the movie climax, is visually stunning, the quality of the script and the actors interpretations were all good enough to show how dramatic the situation was, actually, that makes me think, did James Gunn or the producers were watching anime lately? Not only the camera direction but the dialogues as well (also, did someone noticed the "Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan" quote? When Drax says 'you don't need to believe in yourself, because I believe in you' out something like that).
In conclusion, is a good movie, but not as great as the first one; let's see how the volume 3 turns out.
