Review of Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) by Brent_Marchant — 08 Aug 2014

Not even impressive special effects and sporadic laughs can save this incredibly mediocre offering, whose hype is ultimately more substantial than its story or characters. Given some of the summer's other (and much better) action-adventure releases, I'm at a loss to understand why this picture has drawn such a huge and undeserved response (unless it's because there's nothing else new out there, and this is the best option available).
