Not 5 stars, 5 / 10. wait for video because the movie isn't enough of a spectacle that something will get lost on the small screen. in fact, a lot of it plays like a very high quality episode of a TV show.
if this was a tv show, I might have been into it. But as a film, i'ts a bit repetitive and doesn't arc very well start to finish. all the stuff that makes it feel like a "movie" seems shoehorned in, which is why you have a 3rd act which races up on you once you get there, and all of a sudden you're thrust into an epic battle that you don't really care about.
"Guardians" values jokes over drama, and it's not funny enough to get away with it.
