Review of Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) by Carson T — 24 Sep 2015

Guardians of the Galaxy came from left field in the summer of 2014 and almost gained a cult following. Everyone seemed to see this movie and love it in the process.

One of the things about Guardians of the Galaxy that caught my eye was the cast. Guardians of the Galaxy featured rising stars hungry to make an impact. From Chris Pratt to Dave Bautista this movie gave refreshing performances that really gave this movie the edge it needed. Everyone in this movie was amazing and made me excited for the future of these young and upcoming stars of tomorrow. The.The chemistry in this movie was amazing, for such unique characters the actors and actresses fit together like a puzzle, everything flowed and seemed natural rather that seeming like an actor reading a script. This chemistry led to one of the most surprisingly funny movies in recent memories. Some of the lines in this movie had me laughing so hard, these moments were fitted into the script perfectly.

This movie was also visually spectacular. The CGI looked crisp and stunning. The actors also looked amazing, from the makeup to the costumes this movie clicked on so many different levels that its hard to wrap my brain around.

The flaws are few and far between but there still there. The story seems rushed at times. We see characters change without an explanation. Events happen with no explanation and makes no sense and we as an audience are asked to just accept it. The story itself works but is still simple and basic at times.

In conclusion Guardians of the Galaxy was one of those movies that just clicked. It had that certain element that connected with the audience and was just plain simple fun. The lack of depth in some of the script held it down to only 4 stars but it is still a must see and pure entertainment.
